Level III Sex Offender Community Notification Meeting
The Minneapolis Police Department will be hosting a meeting on:

Level 3 Offenders are most likely of all risk groups to re-offend. The
purpose of this meeting is to provide the community with information about:

Youth and Family Brainstorm Session
LNA is looking for residents of all ages to attend a planning session to
help plan our Youth and Family activities for 2007.
When: Monday, February 5th
5 to 6 pm
Where: Neighborhood Office Building

This is a brainstorming session to hear about your ideas, feel free to bring

Community Engagement Survey
The Minneapolis Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) and the City of
Minneapolis want to know what you think about community engagement in
Minneapolis. Your responses to The Minneapolis Community Engagement Survey
will help us improve the City's community engagement processes. Responses
must be received no later than February 8, 2007.
You can fill out the survey at www.nrp.org
You may also pick up copies of the surveys at NRP. Please call (612)
673-5140. This survey can be made available in alternative languages by
calling Alina Schroeder at (612) 673-3220.
Hosmer Library Music Series
Saturday, February 3rd at 2:00 p.m.
The Don King Blues Band - Bring on the Blues
Do you like the Blues? If you do dont miss this free concert featuring the
Don King Blues Band. The band features Don Kin and Dave Coolbreeze Brown on
guitars and vocals, Dan Emerson on bass, Tenor Sax Glenn Graham and Drummer
Doug Hill. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Minneapolis Public
Library, the Lyndale Neighborhood Association and KFAI Radio and is located
in the Hosmer Community Library Meeting Room.

Corazon En La Mano: Sefardic Jewish Songs
This performance features Stephanie Levi on vocals and doumbek and James
Allen on guitar. Sefardic music is song in Ladino, the Spanish language
spoken by Jews of Spain and Portugal who were expelled from the Iberian
Peninsula in 1492 along with Moors and Gypsies. This free concert is made
possible by the Friends of MPL., the Lyndale Neighborhood Association and
KFAI Radio and is located in the Hosmer Community Library Meeting Room.
Public Hearing on Strong Beer and Wine License for Los Andes Restaurant
Purpose: To present information and solicit comments for an on-sale liquor
license for Los Andes Restaurant, which is located at 317 Lake Street West.
Los Andes is applying for class E license, which is for wine and strong
beer.

Council Member Remington to a Meeting to Review the Midtown Greenway Land
Use and Development Plan
Please join us February 6th from 6:30-7:30 pm at Painter Park (620 W. 34th
Street) as we review the Midtown Greenway Land Use and Development Plan.
Council Member Remington has organized this meeting so residents have
another opportunity to hear details of the plan, ask questions, and give
feedback. City Planning Staff will attend in order to present and discuss.
Since the public comment period has ended, feedback gathered cannot be part
of the public record. Comments are meant to inform the Council Member as he
takes a position on this important plan.

CALL FOR ARTISTS
Art to /di/ for featuring the work of artists from Kingfield and across the
Twin Cities.
Call for Artists:
Local artists and community members are invited to create 2 or 3-dimensional
art based upon the word or object "/di/". Artists can use a literal die, or
choose imagery that depicts nuances and emotions associated with any meaning
of the word "di." Artists are encouraged to be flexible in their
interpretation of the term "di", and how it is incorporated in their work.
One free ticket to the event, food and desserts artfully crafted by Scott
Pampuch of Corner Table, provided to each registered artist. Additional
tickets $10 in advance; $20 at the door. Cash bar. Proceeds from Art to
/di/for are split 50/50 between the artists and the Kingfield Neighborhood
Association.
Registration Deadline: March 5
Artwork Due: March 17
