Upcoming Community Engagement Report Meetings
NRP and the City of Minneapolis will be hosting a series of public meetings
from Monday, January 29th through Monday, February 5th on the City’s
Community Engagement Report.

These meetings will provide Lyndale residents with an opportunity to let the
City know how important community engagement is to them. The report issued
in November of 2006 recommends that the City create a new community
engagement process. While not laying out a specific process, it should be
noted that neighborhood organizations were not asked to participate in the
drafting of the report and are largely ignored as vehicles for community
engagement throughout it.

Some close by public meetings will be held at:

Monday, January 29th
Burroughs School
1601 W. 50th St.
7 to 8:30 pm

Tuesday, January 30th
Plaza Verde
1516 E. Lake St.
7 to 8:30 pm (interpreters for Spanish, Somali will be available at this
meeting)

Wednesday, January 31st
Marcy Open School
415 4th Avenue SE
7 to 8:30 pm

The full report and schedule of public meetings can be found at www.nrp.org

Community Engagement Survey
The Minneapolis Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) and the City of
Minneapolis want to know what you think about community engagement in
Minneapolis. Your responses to The Minneapolis Community Engagement Survey
will help us improve the City's community engagement processes. Responses
must be received no later than February 8, 2007.

You can fill out the survey at www.nrp.org

You may also pick up copies of the surveys at NRP. Please call (612)
673-5140. This survey can be made available in alternative languages by
calling Alina Schroeder at (612) 673-3220.

Youth and Family Planning Meeting
Help keep Lyndale fun in 2007 for youth and families! LNA is looking for
residents of all ages to attend a planning session Monday, February 5th from
5:00-6:00 pm to get our Youth and Family program up and running again.
Teenagers are especially encouraged to get involved to ensure that this
year’s scheduling meets their needs and interests. Bring the whole family
and join in the fun! This is a brainstorming session, so veterans are
encouraged to help get us started with no pressure for future commitments.
