Public Meeting on Stoplight Removal
Thursday, June 28
Painter Park
6:30 p.m.
The City of Minneapolis Public Works Department is hosting a public meeting
to discuss the removal of traffic signals at Lyndale Avenue and 32nd Street
and Lyndale Avenue and 33rd Street. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.
with Public Works Staff discussing the reasons for the removal of the
signals. The remainder for the meeting will be an opportunity for the
public to ask questions and comment on the signal removal.

Design-A-Sign Neighborhood Contest Last Chance
Want to see your Art Work all across Lyndale. The environment committee is
hosting a Design-A-Sign contest to advertise recycling days. Each sign
should incorporate the slogan Lyndale Recycles into the design. Each sign
will have a topper indicating which day recycling occurs for each block.
· Electronic submissions are preferred, but paper are also acceptable
1 Signs must be able to be printed using a four colors process
2 Include your name, phone, and email address
3 Entries must be received at the LNA office by Saturday, June
30th.
4 The winner will be announced at the July General Membership
Meeting
· 1st place receives $50 and a package of Lyndale Merchandise
1 2nd and 3rd place will receive a package of
Lyndale Merchandise

Officer Melissa Schmidt served six years with the Minneapolis Police
Department when she was shot and killed in the line of duty. Officer
Schmidt gave her life in service to the citizens of the community, and the
IAWP and MAWP seeks to honor her memory by hosting this event.
The IAWP (International Association of Women Police) and the MAWP (Minnesota
Association of Women Police) are dedicated to assisting women in criminal
justice and it is their respective missions to providing professional
development, training, recognition, mentoring, networking and peer support.
The IAWP Foundation is determined to carry out charitable and educational
agenda of the IAWP, to include education of its members and also the public
about women in law enforcement.
