Healthy Family Community Art Project and Field Day

Summer Sampler and Music in the Park

Enjoy Live Music by the Legends of Jazz (provided by Hosmer Library). This

LEAP Happy Hour for May
El Paraiso

The Lyndale Event and Activity Planners are holding their May Neighborhood
Happy Hour at El Paraiso on Thursday, May 24. Come join us on the deck for
a relaxing evening. All residents are welcome. RSVPs arent required but
are helpful for figuring out how much space to reserve. RSVP to Mark at

Lyndale General Membership Meeting
The May General Membership Meeting has been moved to Tuesday, May 29th
(because of Memorial Day). It will be held in Champion's Banquet Room. The
meeting will feature Inspector Kris Arneson who is the precinct commander
for the 5th Precinct as our guest speaker.

Hennepin Lake Liquors 25th Annual Community Wine Tasting Benefit
Wednesday, June 13th

6 to 9 pm
Tickets for the neigborhood wine tasting are on sale now at the LNA Office.
Tickets to this great event are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. The
event features over 400 varieties of wine and raises money for the Lyndale,
ECCO, LHENA, CARAG, East Isles, KIAA, CIDNA, LHRI, and Whittier
neighborhoods. Lyndale receives 100 percent of the tickets we sell as a
neighborhood and 0 percent of the tickets sold elsewhere, so buy your
tickets from us.

by Hennepin Lake Liquors & Campiello.
Design-A-Sign Neighborhood Contest
Want to see your Art Work all across Lyndale. The environment committee is
hosting a Design-A-Sign contest to advertise recycling days. Each sign
should incorporate the slogan Lyndale Recycles into the design. Each sign
will have a topper indicating which day recycling occurs for each block.
· Electronic submissions are preferred, but paper are also acceptable
1 Signs must be able to be printed using a four colors process
2 Include your name, phone, and email address
3 Entries must be received at the LNA office by June 30th.t
4 The winner will be announced at the July General Membership
Meeting
· 1st place receives $50 and a package of Lyndale Merchandise
1 2nd and 3rd place will receive a package of
Lyndale Merchandise

Minneapolis Comprehensive Plan Survey and Meeting
The City of Minneapolis is inviting residents to take an on-line survey that
covers three broad policy areas: sustainability, heritage preservation, and
urban design. Find the survey at www.minneapolisplan.info. The survey will
be on-line through mid-June. This is a great opportunity to share thoughts
and ideas about what Minneapolis should look like in 2030.
The City of Minneapolis has begun the process of updating its Comprehensive
Plan. Join City leaders at a Community Forum to learn about the process and
to discuss three themes that will shape the Minneapolis of the future:
sustainability, heritage preservation and urban design.

The City of Minneapolis is updating The Minneapolis Plan for Sustainable
Growth, its
long-term vision for the growth and physical development of the city. The
plan

management; the updated plan will also include a future land-use map.

Public Information Meeting on I35W/Hwy 62 Construction

4:30 to 8:00 pm
This is a public information meeting to update people on the Crosstown
construction. Their will be three formal presentations scheduled for 5 pm,
6 pm, and 7 pm. All presentations are the same. This meeting will provide
residents and business owners an opportunity to ask questions about the
project.
5th Precinct Open House
Come join Officers and staff at the annual 5th Precinct open house in honor
of Law Enforcement Officers Memorial week.
Where: 5th Precinct, 3101 Nicollet Ave South
When: Thursday May 17th 5 pm to 7pm
There will be several specialty units to view while enjoying a beverage and
hotdogs!
Help us Out, Things for the Neighborhood
Were looking for some donations for the Neighborhood Organization. What
were looking for this month is:
Bookshelves: Were looking for two to three nice bookshelves for the
neighborhood office. If you have some and are interested in donating them
to the office call Norma at 612.824.9402 ext 15 or email norma at lyndale.org.
