LEAP Happy Hour for May - Tonight

The Lyndale Event and Activity Planners are holding their May Neighborhood
Happy Hour at El Paraiso on Thursday, May 24. Come join us on the deck or
inside for a relaxing evening. All residents are welcome. RSVPs arent
required but are helpful for figuring out how much space to reserve. RSVP

Lyndale General Membership Meeting
The May General Membership Meeting has been moved to Tuesday, May 29th
(because of Memorial Day). It will be held in Champion's Banquet Room. The
meeting will feature Inspector Kris Arneson who is the precinct commander
for the 5th Precinct as our guest speaker. At this meeting we will also be
taking up the 2007 Bike Cop CAP and the Summer 2007 LPF Recommendations.

As a part of the Zion Community Dinner there will be an informal Q & A on
whats happening in the Lyndale Neighborhood with LNA Executive Director
Mark Hinds. The Zion Community Dinner is open to everyone and provides an
opportunity for people to connect over a healthy meal. For more information

Hennepin Lake Liquors 25th Annual Community Wine Tasting Benefit
Wednesday, June 13th

Tickets for the neigborhood wine tasting are on sale now at the LNA Office.
Tickets to this great event are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. The
event features over 400 varieties of wine and raises money for the Lyndale,
ECCO, LHENA, CARAG, East Isles, KIAA, CIDNA, LHRI, and Whittier
neighborhoods. Lyndale receives 100 percent of the tickets we sell as a
neighborhood and 0 percent of the tickets sold elsewhere, so buy your
tickets from us.

by Hennepin Lake Liquors & Campiello.
Design-A-Sign Neighborhood Contest
Want to see your Art Work all across Lyndale. The environment committee is
hosting a Design-A-Sign contest to advertise recycling days. Each sign
should incorporate the slogan Lyndale Recycles into the design. Each sign
will have a topper indicating which day recycling occurs for each block.
· Electronic submissions are preferred, but paper are also acceptable
1 Signs must be able to be printed using a four colors process
2 Include your name, phone, and email address
3 Entries must be received at the LNA office by June 30th.
4 The winner will be announced at the July General Membership
Meeting
· 1st place receives $50 and a package of Lyndale Merchandise
1 2nd and 3rd place will receive a package of
Lyndale Merchandise

Minneapolis Comprehensive Plan Survey
The City of Minneapolis is inviting residents to take an on-line survey that
covers three broad policy areas: sustainability, heritage preservation, and
urban design. Find the survey at
www.minneapolisplan.info. The survey will be on-line through mid-June. This
is a great opportunity to share thoughts and ideas about what Minneapolis
should look like in 2030.

Call for Interested Task Force Participants in Minneapolis Community
Engagement Task Force
The Minneapolis City Council and City Staff continue to work on clarifying
and expanding opportunities for Minneapolis residents to influence decisions
that shape their city and their lives. A task force will put together
options that consider how the City works with community organizations
(including geographic neighborhood organizations and non-geographic
organizations) to engage with residents. The options will go to the broader
community for comment and input through a community engagement process in
early fall. If you would like to be a participant on this task force you
are invited to submit your name for consideration.
The charge and structure are being considered by City Council and further
discussion is expected at the May 25th City Council meeting. Please refer
