NRP Funding Contact Your Legislators
There is currently legislation pending at the State Capitol that would =
provide funding for a third phase of the NRP program. So far this year =
the NRP program has received a very positive response from legislators. =
The challenge is in finding a source for funding. House File 3821 & =
Senate File 3643 would provide $110 million for NRP over the next ten =
years. This amount would fill the deficit created in the property tax =
changes a few years ago, bringing the total program funding to the $400 =
million originally committed.
Please take a few moments and contact the chairs of the House and Senate =
Tax Committees and let them know how important strong neighborhoods are =
to Minneapolis and to your quality of life. Ask them to fund NRP this =
year. If you have additional time contact your legislators =
http://www.leg.state.mn.us/leg/Districtfinder.asp and ask them to make =
sure that this year=E2=80=99s tax bill provides funding to keep =
Minneapolis=E2=80=99 neighborhoods strong for years to come.
