Additional information on each of these items is available on the website at

Also, don’t forget about Leonardo’s at Lyndale, LNA’s new program that
provides a class from Leonardo’s Basement for kids 4 to 12 during the
General Membership Meetings in the Arts and Crafts room at the Park so whole
families can participate in their community.

LNN Survey Reminder
The Lyndale Neighborhood News Staff put together a survey to gather your
thoughts on Lyndale’s community paper. They would appreciate it if you
would fill it out and return it to the LNA office. You can either drop it
off or mail it to LNA, 3537 Nicollet Avenue, Mpls, MN 55408. The LNN staff
puts a lot of time and effort into the paper and they would really
appreciate hearing your thoughts back about the paper.

Community Engagement/ Future of NRP Meetings
The City of Minneapolis is hosting five informational sessions to share
details and answer questions about the recently proposed “Framework for the
Future” of the Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP). The framework
outlines a structure for the continuation of the NPR beyond 2009 and its
connection to the broader community participation work of the City. The
framework was put together by the NRP Work Group that included
representation from the City Council, Mayor Rybak’s office, and the director
of NRP.

As a first step toward gathering feedback from the community, five
informational sessions will be held in different parts of town in the coming
weeks. The sessions are opportunities for residents to become better
informed about the proposal, and the schedule is as follows:

DAY	DATE	TIME	LOCATION
Tuesday	Jan. 22	6:30-8 p.m.	Sibley Recreation Center
1900 E. 40th St.
Wednesday	Jan. 23	7-8:30 p.m.	Eastside Neighborhood Services
17th Ave. NE & Second St. NE
Monday	Jan. 28	6:30-8 p.m.	Folwell Recreation Center
1615 Dowling Ave. N.
Tuesday	Jan. 29	7-8:30 p.m.	Lynnhurst Recreation Center
1345 W. Minnehaha Parkway
Monday	Feb. 4	12-1:30 p.m.	City Hall, room 319
350 S. Fifth St.

Everyone is invited to the information sessions, and neighborhood
board/council members and staff are especially encouraged to attend. They
can take the information they gather back to their neighborhood groups and
organizations for their consideration and feedback.
Each session will include a brief overview of the report and focus on a
question and answer period intended to offer a deeper understanding of what
is being proposed. Ultimately the NRP Work Group would like to hear from as
many people as possible to guide the group in building on the current
program and bringing NRP into its next phase.

Lyndale Open House - Looking for Assistance
A Time to Gather
Thursday, March 6th, 2008
6:00-8:30 p.m.
Lyndale School, 34th & Grand Ave.

Lyndale’s Open House is fast approaching. And we’re looking for silent
auction and raffle donations from the community. As well as volunteers to
help put the event on.

This year we are adding a new type of item to the silent auction – Great
Gatherings. Great Gatherings can be parties, dinners, outings, etc
 that
are hosted by community members for other community members. Some examples
could include:

*	A Backyard Oktoberfest Party for 30 people with brats, beer, and
polka music
*	A five course dinner with wine pairings for 10 people – Actual item
being offered
*	A Persian New Year Dinner for 20 people
*	A Holiday Sing A-Long for 30 people

Great Gatherings are limited only by people’s imaginations. The way they
will work for the Open House is that host gets to set the number of people
that they want to plan the event for and when the event will be. The hosts
are also responsible for all aspects of putting on the event. At the Open
House people will be able to bid on slots for each great gathering, just
like other auction items.

Let’s us know if you’re interested in hosting a great gathering or if you
have anything else you would like to donate to the raffle.

We also want your help to get the word out for this great event! So save
Thursday, March 6th on your calendar and start telling your friends and
neighbors!

Call Norma at 824-9402 x15 or norma at lyndale.org to let us know if you have
an auction/raffle items or for more ideas on how you can be a part of this
fantastic neighborhood event!

Call Sarah at 824-9402 x 12 if you are interested in volunteering for the
event. We are especially looking for someone who is good at graphic design
to help us layout this year’s materials.

Art Show and Silent Auction March 22, 7-10 PM
Rau+Barber Studio, 4244 Nicollet Avenue South

Call for Artists:
Local artists and community members are invited to create 2-dimensional or
3D art that captures the spirit of ‘Living Art’. Whether growing,
changing, moving, or residing in the public eye and thus subject to
individual interpretation, art lives among us and influences us. Artists
are encouraged to be flexible in their interpretation of the concept “living
art”, and how it is incorporated in their work.

One free ticket to the event, including food and desserts artfully crafted
by Scott Pampuch of Corner Table and Theresa Lien of Anodyne, provided to
each registered artist. Additional tickets $10 in advance; $20 at the door.
Cash bar. Auction proceeds from ‘Living Art’ are split 50/50 between the
artists and the Walldogs on Nicollet, a project of the Kingfield and Lyndale
neighborhood associations.

Registration Deadline: March 5
Artwork Due: March 15
To register visit www.kingfield.org and click on “Living Art”.

"Because we believe that art is the key to community, this project helps our
