LNN Survey Reminder
The Lyndale Neighborhood News Staff put together a survey to gather your thoughts on Lyndale’s community paper. They would appreciate it if you would fill it out and return it to the LNA office. You can either drop it off or mail it to LNA, 3537 Nicollet Avenue, Mpls, MN 55408. The LNN staff puts a lot of time and effort into the paper and they would really appreciate hearing your thoughts back about the paper.
Community Impact Statements
At a recent 5th Precinct court watch meeting the following cases were identified as needing Community Impact Statements (CIS). These statements are extremely important because they help demonstrate to the judge how a crime has affected you and the community. To influence the judge’s sentence (ask the judge to give the defendant the maximum jail time allowed, for example, or require the defendant to do certain things- like treatment or community service- as conditions of probation). More information about Community Impact Statements can be found at http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/attorney/impact-statements-faq.asp
Please write and submit the attached Community Impact Statements for the people listed below. Provide details about the activities you are aware this individual has been involved in as well as how their activity has affected your general livability. Please forward this email to other neighbors who are also willing to write and submit a CIS. We’d also appreciate it if you would let Sarah (sarah at lyndale.org – 612.824.9402 ext 12) know when you submit a statement or if you have any questions. Timing is really important, so please submit these ASAP.

Eco-friendly winter home and yard maintenance!
Thursday, March 20
7:00-8:00 pm
MLK Park, 4055 Nicollet Avenue South
All urban-dwellers are invited to join the Kingfield Neighborhood Association (KFNA) Green Committee for Minnesota’s 1st winter maintenance training class designed for homeowners. This will be a chance to learn about de-icer selection, application rates, snow removal methods and environmental impacts. For the past 10 years this type of training has been available only to snow and ice control professionals. Now it is available to you in a simplified, and entertaining!, format.
Since this is a new program piloted in 2008 we are interested in understanding homeowner winter maintenance concerns. Any information you can share with us will help us improve our new training program. Bring your trickiest winter maintenance concerns and join in the discussion. Eco-friendly treats, hand–baked and foot-delivered, by Butter, and Peace Coffee brewed by Anodyne!
This program is funded by the Mississippi WMO and presented by Fortin Consulting Inc. Questions can be directed to Sarah Linnes-Robinson, KFNA Executive Director at kfna at email.com or 612.823.5980.
