All,
This year the Lyndale Neighborhood Association is going to be working to get
all Lyndale community members out to the polls. LNA believes that an
important part of a healthy democracy is having as many people participate
as possible. To that end, LNA is organizing several opportunities for
people to work on nonpartisan Get Out to Vote (GOTV) efforts through their
neighborhood association.
On each of the following days we will be hosting Get Out To Vote activities
from the LNA offices. If you have an hour or two to give on any of these
days, please think about using it here.
Monday, October 20th
5:00 to 8:30 pm
We will be hosting a phone bank at the LNA offices and organizing
doorknocks. Food and snacks will be available to volunteers around 5:30.
Tuesday, October 28th
5:00 to 8:30 pm
We will be hosting a phone bank at the LNA offices and organizing
doorknocks. Food and snacks will be available to volunteers around 5:30.
Saturday, November 1st
11:00 am to 3:00 pm
We will be hosting a phone bank at the LNA offices and organizing
doorknocks. Food and snacks will be available to volunteers around 12:00.
Election Day
We will be organizing phone banks and doorknocks through the election day.
We are also looking for people who can provide people with rides to the
polls and several people who are willing to be on call to vouch for
neighbors at their polling places throughout the day.
We will have very simple scripts and materials available starting Monday for
people who would like to help out with these activities. One of the nice
things about nonpartisan GOTV activities is that all you're trying to do is
encourage people to vote, so you don't have to try and convince anyone to
vote for anyone else.
If you can make it to any of our organized activities and would like to help
out, please contact me and we'll get some materials set up for you to phone
call or door knock at your convenience.
To help us keep everything organized please let me know what days you would
like to volunteer for at mark at lyndale.org or 612.824.9402 ext 16.
Thanks,
Mark
