Eating for Art
Thursday, October 2nd

Want a good excuse to spend all day eating at great local restaurants.  On
Tuesday, October 2nd we’re giving you the perfect excuse – Eating for Art.
Join us at local restaurants to help raise money for arts programming in the
Lyndale and Kingfield Neighborhoods.

All you have to do to be a great neighbor is to pick your favorite
participating restaurants and go eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, or if you
want a couple of snacks in between.  Each participating restaurant will be
donating a percentage of their proceeds for the day to the neighborhoods.
Proceeds from this year’s event will go towards the Walldogs on Nicollet
project.

Join us for a fun evening of bowling and beer at Bryant Lake Bowl.  We’ll
have a couple of lanes reserved.

Join us for an evening at a local theater, date, time, and show TBD.  Have

FIRST FRIDAY: Playing with Food & Technology
November  7th, 2008 - 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Leonardo’s Basement - 4301 Nicollet Ave Minneapolis, MN 55409

Come experiment with food and food delivery technology just in time for the
Holidays.... Activities may include:

*	"Does it fry?" - try deep-fried anything including shooting potatoes
through a screen for instant French Fries.
*	"Guns & food" - use caulking guns and grease guns to decorate cakes
and dispense other soft goodies.
*	"Really cold ice cream" - using liquid nitrogen and savory
flavorings.

Litter OUTA Lyndale
Saturday, October 11th
10 am to 1:00 pm
Join us on Saturday, October 11th for the fall Litter Outa Lyndale.  This
time we’ve got two pick up places for your convenience.  You can pick up
your gloves, bags, and route at either the LNA Office 3537 Nicollet Avenue
or at Painter Park (34th street and Lyndale) anytime from 10 am to Noon.
Starting at 12:30 pm join us back at the LNA office for a potluck barbecue.

4th Annual Halloween Walk  
Monstrous Crime Out!
Sunday October 26th
4pm Meeting at 3200 Pleasant Ave S.
This is a strategic, proactive Crime Prevention Walk sponsored by the
Lyndale Walkers.  Everyone is invited, it is a family friendly walk. If one
has not experienced Shirley in the Gorilla suit, you really shouldn’t miss
it.  Costumes are absolutely optional.    Just join us!

Youth Farm wants your leaves! 
As we approach fall and raking season, Youth Farm wants to put it out there
to our Lyndale Neighbors that we are looking for some leaves! Leaves are
great for our gardens and compost pile. If you have some to give, you can
either call or email Rina to arrange pick-up, or simply drop them off (in a
well-sealed bag please) in the back of our Pillsbury garden (drive down the
alley between Pillsbury and Pleasant, in the 3100 block until you see our
shed, close to 31st street on the east side of the alley. Rina is reachable
at 612.990.9261 or rina at youthfarm.net.  

Help Get Out The Vote (GOTV) in Lyndale
LNA is going to be working this election to help turn Lyndale community
members out to vote.  We will be conducting nonpartisan Get Out To Vote
(GOTV) efforts during October and November and are looking for people to
help out.  LNA will be hosting a GOTV training in October for interested
volunteers.  If you’re interested in helping get people out to vote.
