Help Eliminate Graffiti in Lyndale
Are you interested in eliminating graffiti in Lyndale. If so, LNA’s
Eliminate Graffiti Program is for you. The Eliminate Graffiti Program has
three different components designed to reduce the amount of graffiti in the
neighborhood.

Graffiti Busters
The Graffiti Busters Program is designed to help community members remove
graffiti as quickly as possible. LNA has several graffiti removal kits
available at the neighborhood office for people to check out and has two
Graffiti Busters out actively finding and cleaning up all the graffiti in
the neighborhood. You can also volunteer to help the LNA Graffiti Busters
clean up the graffiti in the neighborhood. To report graffiti email
norma at lyndale.org.

Light-Up Lyndale
The second component of the Lyndale Eliminate Graffiti Program is matching
grants that LNA has available for property owners and businesses to improve
lighting in the neighborhood. This program encourages property owners to
light up areas of the neighborhood that are hidden in darkness and frequent
targets of graffiti by providing matching funds for exterior lighting
projects. Light-Up Lyndale Program Application

Cover-Up Program
Lyndale’s Cover-Up Program seeks to build on the success and capacity built
during last summer’s Walldogs on Nicollet project. This year’s goal is to
work with local artists, community members, property owners, and business
owners to shrink the amount of prime real estate available to taggers by
increasing the amount of public art and greenscaping in the neighborhood.

Lyndale Bike Cop Program
This summer the Lyndale Neighborhood Association will be working with the
Minneapolis Police Department on a Bike Cop program for the neighborhood.
The money we raise for this program goes to hire off-duty officers to patrol
the Lyndale neighborhood on bikes.

The Lyndale Bike Cop Program goes to help:
*	Stop Crime
*	Build trust between the police and the community
*	Let criminals know they are not welcome in our neighborhood

Thanks to the generous support of Lyndale community members we have raised
over $3,500 for bike cops already this year – which puts us almost half-way
to our goal. Remember every $45 dollars that we raise pays for one hour of
patrol time.

The LNA board is also offering a special matching challenge to the
neighborhood this year to help get the 5th Precinct some new bikes for this
program and for officers to use during their regular patrol time. LNA will
match on a dollar to dollar basis up to $800 for new bikes for the 5th
precinct. We know it’s a lot to ask people to make an additional
contribution on top of their regular bike cop contribution, but we think it
is important that officers have good bikes to patrol the neighborhood

You should have received a letter asking you to donate to this year’s bike
cop program. We ask that you please consider sending your donation back by
Friday, July 24th or consider donating online here
<http://www.lyndale.org/archives/category/cnd> .

Questions or comments about the Lyndale Bike Cop program should be directed
