*2009 Lyndale Open House*
Thursday, March 19th
6:00 to 8:30 pm
Lyndale Community School (34th & Grand Ave)

It's finally here!  The 2009 Lyndale Open House is tonight, Thursday, March
19th.  The theme for this year’s Open House is to “Be the Change.”  The
planning committee chose this theme to highlight how LNA is working to bring
community members together to “Be the Change” they want to see in the
neighborhood.

This year’s Open House is at the Lyndale Community School (312 W 34th St.)
from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.  This is one of our biggest and best events of the
year, so bring the whole family, have some dinner, and have some fun.

Here's what's happening at the Open House:

*Taste of Lyndale* - will feature food from: Butter, Champions, It's Greek
to Me, Gigi's, El Meson, Uptown Pizza, Anodyne, Pizza Luce, Joy's Kitchen,
and El Paraiso restaurants.

*Expanded Kid's Activities* - Leonardo's Basement, Painter Park, Esvita
Juentas, Youth Farm, and Old Arizona will have fun interactive activities
for kid's this year.

*Great Gatherings* -  are events hosted by neighbors for neighbors.  The way
they work is that people are able to sign up for slots for the events they
want to attend.  But be careful, each Great Gathering has a limited number
of spots, so if you don’t get your name in early, you may be out of luck.
Here is a quick list of this year's Great Gatherings: An Evening in Spain,
Lyndale's Amazing Race, Cementing Memories for your Garden Parkway,
Locavore, Oktoberfest, Ponside Morning Yoga, the Garfield Gala, Crafty Day,
a Fall Fish Fry, and last year's very popular Fun on the Farm Day.  You can

*Silent Auction & Raffle* - The silent auction and raffle are back this
year.  We've got great items like vintage records from B-Squad, hotel and
restaurant gift certificates from all over Minneapolis, Twins tickets,
yukulele's from Twin Town Guitar, and much, much, much, more.  You can check

*Be the Change - *We're also going to have a lot of ways for you to connect
with LNA's Committees and other nonprofits in the community who can help you
be the change you want to see in the neighborhood - so stop by and get
involved.  And don't forget to take part in the Be The Change wall by
telling the rest of the community how you will help make our neighborhood a
better place to live, work, and play.
